FlowPlan's AI assistant helps you break down projects into actionable tasks, saving you time on planning.

What can the AI do?

  • Generate tasks for a project β€” Describe what you want to achieve, and the AI creates a list of tasks with estimated durations
  • Break down complex goals β€” Turn a big idea into manageable steps
  • Suggest task structures β€” Get recommendations based on your project description

Supported AI providers

FlowPlan works with multiple AI providers. You can choose the one you prefer:

Setting up your AI provider

  1. Go to Settings > AI Settings
  2. Select your preferred provider
  3. Enter your API key
  4. Choose a model (or use the default)
  5. Click Test Connection to verify it works
  6. Save your settings

Note: You need your own API key from the AI provider. FlowPlan does not include API credits.

Using AI to generate tasks

  1. Open a project
  2. Click the AI Assistant button
  3. Describe what you want to accomplish in the text box
  4. Click Generate
  5. The AI will suggest a list of tasks with:
  6. Task titles
  7. Estimated durations
  8. Suggested priorities
  9. Review each suggestion
  10. Add the tasks you want to keep

Tips for better results

  • Be specific β€” "Create a landing page with hero section, features grid, pricing table, and contact form" works better than "make a website"
  • Include constraints β€” Mention deadlines, tools, or requirements
  • Iterate β€” If the first suggestions don't fit, adjust your description and try again
  • Review and adjust β€” AI suggestions are a starting point. Adjust durations and priorities based on your experience.
