Connecting Google Calendar
Connect your Google Calendar so FlowPlan knows about your meetings, appointments, and other commitments when scheduling tasks.
What does this integration do?
- Imports your events into FlowPlan's calendar view
- Prevents scheduling conflicts β the auto-scheduler works around your existing events
- Supports multiple calendars β personal, work, shared calendars
- One-way sync β events come from Google Calendar into FlowPlan (FlowPlan doesn't modify your Google Calendar)
Setting up the connection
Step 1: Start the connection
- Go to Integrations in FlowPlan
- Find the Google Calendar section
- Click Connect Google Calendar
Step 2: Authorize access
- You'll be redirected to Google's sign-in page
- Select your Google account
- Review the permissions and click Allow
- You'll be redirected back to FlowPlan
Step 3: Select your calendars
- FlowPlan will show all available calendars from your Google account
- Check the ones you want to sync (e.g., "Work," "Personal")
- Save your selection
How events affect your schedule
Once connected, your Google Calendar events appear in FlowPlan's calendar view. When you use auto-scheduling:
- Tasks won't be scheduled during your calendar events
- The scheduler sees your events as "busy" time
- Only the remaining available time is used for task scheduling
Syncing your events
Events are imported when you trigger a sync from Integrations > Sync Calendar. You can choose how many days ahead to sync.
Tip: Connect your Google Calendar before generating your first auto-schedule. This way, your daily plan will immediately account for meetings and other commitments.
